National Institute of Technology Hamirpur is one of the thirty-one NITs of the country, which came into existence on 7th August 1986 as Regional Engineering College, a joint and cooperative enterprise of the Govt. of India and Govt. of Himachal Pradesh.

On 26th June 2002, REC Hamirpur was awarded the status of Deemed University and upgraded to National Institute of Technology. NIT Hamirpur is an institute of National importance set up by an act of Parliament, namely the National Institute of Technology Act 2007 which received the accent of the President of India on 5th June, 2007. The Institute offers Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral programmes in Engineering, Sciences, Architecture, Management, and Humanities.

Mechanical Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering came into its existence right from the inception of the then Regional Engineering College Hamirpur (now National Institute of Technology Hamirpur) in the year 1986. The discipline of Mechanical Engineering started offering undergraduate programme in the year 1994. The Department has a very well-established B. Tech. program complemented by three M. Tech. programs in Design, Thermal, and Manufacturing.

About MATHED-2024

The 1st International Conference MATHED-2022 was successfully organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, held from 15th-17th February 2023. The conference provides a general platform to various academicians, scientists, researchers, research scholars, and industry persons throughout the globe working in the broad areas of Mechanical Engineering (Design, Thermal, and Manufacturing Engineering) and allied areas to exchange and share their experiences and research with the world.

After the great success of 1st international conference MATHED-2022, with more than 140 papers reviewed and presented at the conference. The Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, initiated a series as the 2nd international conference MATHED-2024 keeping in view the conference goal of providing an interdisciplinary platform and collaboration in solving real-world problems. Eminent personalities and delegates from various Industries, Professional Colleges, Universities, and Research Organizations from all over the country and abroad are likely to participate in the above Convention. It will be again opportunity for all of us to gain an abundance of knowledge that will be shared by a large no of eminent speakers and networking.
